Shifting gears

 

A word I sense during this time is shifting gears …

Take a moment. Take this moment.

And tune in precisely to what God has in store for this coming season. 

It may seem like things are frozen in time.

Like things are suspended in mid air.

But 

God is in it

Don’t be hasty … 

Don’t be in a rush …

The picture I see is a cyclist in a race shifting gears on a bicycle. 

There is a moment when this is taking place where it can seem things are suspended.

Things are frozen. 

Things are up in the air. 

And in many ways it could seem that in the midst of a race, taking time to shift gears at such a time just wouldn’t make sense. 

But …

Shifting gears is essential

“Surely you know that many runners take part in a race, but only one of them wins the prize. Run, then, in such a way as to win the prize” 1 Corinthians 9:24 Good NewsTranslation
