Carpe Diem

I hadn’t seen the movie, but when I came across the book of the movie “Dead Poets Society” at a book exhibition recently, I knew right away I was to get it.

I’m glad I did.

School boys with their lives charted out for them, by others …

Their lives were impacted by an inspirational teacher who taught them to Carpe Diem, to seize the day.

The words on the cover describe it well “He was their inspiration. He made their lives extraordinary”

These school boys started to gather and to dream, and to take steps to do exactly that.

It’s a great book.

If you haven’t read it yet, I won’t spoil the ending for you.

But I would share two takeaways from reading the book ...

If you are a student, Carpe Diem, go for your dreams.

And if you are a teacher, encourage your students to Seize the Day.

Are you a student?

Are you a teacher?

I’m a firm believer we should always be both

Be a life long learner.

And a life long teacher.

As students, we can keep dreaming, and keep going after those dreams.

And as teachers, we can keep encouraging others to go for their dreams too.

Much love
